How do you find the legal owners of a business in NY?
Q. I know that it is public record and there is some way to research and find the legal owner of a business. What I need is to know the steps to take and where to find this information. It doesn't cost money, does it, since it's public record? Can someone walk me through the process or give me a suggestion where I can start?

A. The New York Corporation Commission has the information on all businesses that operate as a corporation (most of them). It will have the contact info and names.

Legal suggestion appartment lease, in the state of PA...?
Q. I left the appartment I was renting at the end of my lease, I cleaned the house as promised, steamed carpets, walls, appliances... It took me 2 whole days to finish. When I left the house all you could smell was bleach and pine sol. My point it was extra/ super clean... I made a video of the house to prove it to. I received a letter saying that he's not returning my deposit because he had to hire someone to clean again for 14 hr. Plus he wanted to redo the carpets AGAIN because he wasn't happy with my washing. And he had to repaint because he said that the colors are dull compared to what he gave me a year ago. He found spots left on the wall , left from the desk against the wall. He wrote on the bottom of the page that he's not charging… [cont.]

A. You took a video? Very smart. Just show him the video. If he still will not return the deposit, take him to small claims court. They are usually sympathetic to tenants anyway and because you have documentation you should prevail. Just let him know that you intend to take him to small claims court since you have documented the condition of the unit. Normal wear and tear is expected and any landlord could expect to have to touch up paint and clean the carpet between tenants. And he can't charge you for the time he personally spent - that is part of being a landlord. Just keep all your paperwork and documentation.

Today I got a call at work telling me the lady that was boarding my horse gave him away. Any legal suggestion
Q. Thanks I wanted to hear what most one you would do. I did call the police, I went to the sherrif and the DA's office. FYI... I had to have the police chief accompany to remove my other horse from her"care". Otherwise, she could have me arrested for trespassing (YES! Even with a boarding contact) and I now have to file a civil suit (against her and the receiver of the horse) to recover the horse she gave away. Sometimes, it seems the law works just backwards huh Thank you all for your answers. To see the horses I am talking about go to www.fieldsofgra ce.net. Barney is the one she gave away.

A. My question is that you stated that you were "boarding" your horse, so that means you were paying for someone else to care for your horse in a location other than your own property. Were you current on your bill? How often did you go by and check on the horse, vet care, health issues, farrier, etc.? Did you have a written contract for services with the barn owner? With a contract, all issues, rules/ regulations and expected actions are spelled out. If you visited the barn frequently and are current on your bill, I don't believe that she had any legal right to "give" your horse away before exhausting all means to contact you. Your question should be directed to someone in the legal profession as there are so many… [cont.]

Q. My husband has left me for a very large lady who he knew for 2 days!!! I want to reek ...legal...reve nge on both of them so they will wonder what has hit them once my divorce comes through, it appears he is a serial cheater and liar but he's very good at it! Any suggestions welcome please...

A. Ever thought of being the better person and forgiving him? That and why pray on the woman he cheated with, if he's so bad he'll do the same to her so she already has enough coming to her. Really this kind of revenge seeking and hatred only comes from Satan and every evil thing you think of doing to him he'll make it taste as sweet as honey. Really your spiraling into a psycho meltdown. Calm down and think of a way to help yourself, not destroy him.

how to get obtain legal status after living in US 14 years?
Q. A friend came to USA about 13 or 14 years ago with his parents and siblings. At the time, he was only 10 years old didnt know anything about the whole immigration thing. He finally found out that he was actually an 'illegal immigrant' when he started college and tried to apply for financial aid and was denied. Apparently, his parents were telling him that he was a US citizen the day they moved to the country. He is working full time job to keep up with his college tuition, but needs help on how to get obtain legal status. Anyone has any suggestion??
Asked by DoraEmon - Sat Jun 21 17:00:46 2008 - Immigration - 11 Answers - Comments

A. Does he have a US birth certificate? I didn't think so. See, he was not born in the USA so he needs to go back to where he was born and get his birth certificate and whatever Identification/ s are required to enter the USA, and re-enter America, then be placed on a many year waiting list in order to obtain LEGAL status. Otherwise, he's just another illegal who wants what Americans have. But his parents are contemptable for being illegal ~and~ lieing to him, saying he's a citizen.

Should all drugs be made legal, with the suggestion of seeing a doctor?
Q. Let's face it, most drugs can be gotten illegally off the street where you live.To keep out of trouble, the current laws force people to see a doctor and get prescriptions through a pharmacy. We are talking at least $50, with only one prescription. Add $25.00 per prescription and you can get into serious money for most people, and that is if you have welfare or good insurance. So the working man (or woman) pays the most. Most of all the doctors want people to take responsibility for their own treatment. How can they if they can only afford the cheapest basics of life? Make people responsible for themselves, sign it to paper when you offer them insurance, or give them welfare, or sell anything from a drugstore to them. Two celeb deaths with… [cont.]

A. Controversial question and a even more controversial answer methinks however here is my thoughts on it. I believe that when the governments of this world make drug seizures IE: Heroin coke etc they should fatally contaminate the seizures and put it back on the streets. My logic being that the only people who will be killed by it are the people using it now this works two ways. 1... The smack heads that inflict mankind with all types of untold misery for there lust for the chosen drugs will be killed off and lets face it society does not need them. 2... The ones who have a few brain cells left will quit as they know the next time they jack up could be there last time.

A. If this is really the position that you want. You will think of a way to stay in the career field that you have selected. You say there are no money to invest so you can get referrals. Referrals are not the only way to get leads. You are sitting in your office looking at the other loan officers wondering how they get the leads they have. Since you have already mentioned that you have no money. Get off your duff, find an area that you would like to have loans from. You will need approximately 5000-1000 houses for this ti work. You are dealing with percentages. Make yourself 5000-1000 flyers, depending on the number of houses you have selected. Once you have decided on what you want your flyer to say, have them ran off at Staples or Office… [cont.]

Why would illegal immigrants come forward without a path to legal status?
Q. With the new bill coming through the Congress to allow a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, we will now hear the screams of those who oppose any sort on amnesty for those who broke our laws to get here. I have to admit that my first reaction is you should not be rewarded for breaking our laws. However, how can you expect to make any 'reform' work if you can not get the illegal aliens to come forward and register so you know who and where they are? And what possible incentive could they have to come out of hiding if they have no chance of becoming legal? My suggestion: 1) A 4 to 6 month period of amnesty where an illegal immigrant could come forward and register and receive a federal ID which would also be a work permit. 2) After that,… [cont.]
