Irs Has My Refund Will Not Release Answers

Has anyone who filed form 8839 been told by the IRS they will be requesting "more information"?
Q. The IRS "Where's my Refund?" tool was telling us we should be expecting our refund by April 5. Today it says they will be sending us something in the mail to request more information. Has anyone else seen this message yet? Has anyone received the request in the mail for more information? Has anyone actually received their refund? I'm starting to worry that the IRS is really going to drag these refunds out.

A. I know of 3 people who have received their FULL refunds. I know of 2 people who have received PARTIAL refunds MINUS the adoption tax credit. I know of 4 people who are in review completely (you make the 4th). I have heard 3 different scenarios. 1. Did BOTH pages of the form 8839 get submitted? The second page, the employer reimbursement, even if it did not apply to you, SHOULD have been submitted this year. 2. Some software packages checked "NO" when it said "did you file a prior year form 8839? 3. Some software packages asked you to enter your prior year carry forwards from 2005 to 2009. When it does that, and you do that, you get refund amounts that are HUGE, and are erroneous. Unless you've adopted more children and had… [cont.]

The IRS refund site was listing my return as being processed. Now it has "no information" What happened?
Q. I E-filed my return on 1/22/08. It was accepted the same day and the next day my refund status was "being processed" and that I should receive my refund by Feb 5, 2008, as a direct deposit. Now the refund status website has "no information" about my return. What happened? Does that mean my return has a problem?

A. If you checked today, I believe they were having trouble with the website. You can call this number 1-800-829-1954 with your information and it should be up to date. Not to scare you, but the year before last, I received a similar message and it turns out that I had transposed a number on one of my kids SS #. I called and was able to fix the problem quickly and had my return within that week.

Is it legal to charge for a "Charge for Boiler Service" on top of existing water charge?
Q. Lanlord charging tennant new utility charge for a Boiler Fee? Is the legal in Bay Area CA? No meter here. We have lived here for three years without this charge and today we received a posting on my front door stating that this new charge would be added to our water bill. We have no individual meters for water in any of these buildings within the complex and all water charges are "Based on occupancy and square footage" I asked when I signed my lease if there was a meter that I could check for accuracy, and the lady I signed with had no information. "It is just a standard charge." is all she could tell me and that it would only cost around 50 dollars each month. I expressed my concern that I was paying for somehting I… [cont.]

A. From what I know of FL law, a landlord is required to provide water and heat (not hot water, although this is the general assumption). In locations where meters are available for individual units, my tenants had to open their own water accounts with the utility dept. In locations where there is only 1 meter for a building w/ multiple residences, typically the burden of paying for the water is shared amongst all tenants as part of the rent (as opposed to a side item). A landlord can charge maintenance fees (for instance, "boiler fee"). However, if the change and increase is added within the term of your lease, you can either agree to the change, and pay the fee, or terminate the lease, w/ no termination penalties (since it wasn't… [cont.]

Did anyone else's refund status on the IRS website change back to "cannot provide information?"?
Q. I thought that whole rebate thing hadn't even been configured yet Any forms that cannot be processed until Feb 11th would have resulted in your return being denied. It doesn't leave me a number to call. I checked it this morning and now it is back to saying the 29th...whew! For anyone out there who cares, I was checking between 9pm and 11pm until I went to bed and it wouldn't give me any info. That must be right in the middle of their update period.

If I have "sensitive information" regarding US military actions, should I release them?
Q. If I have some "sensitive information" regarding US military actions in Middle East and Central Asia, things that I believe are immoral such as the My Lai massacre. If I release them, would the US Government jail me or try to extradite me as a "high-tech terrorist" like Assange?

A. If you have the information legally and do not have any restrictions on releasing it then it is not illegal. If however the information is classified and/or you only have access to it due to a nondisclosure situation, you do not have the right to release it. If you actually had information on a situation like the My Lai massacre, the U.S. military actually has proper channels to report such things through, that will get them prosecuted. You are given information on who to contact as part of your clearance training actually. Bad stuff can happen in any military conflict, and stuff like My Lai and such violates the UCMJ in a major way... so it needs to be reported so it can be prosecuted. If you did release information like this to the press… [cont.]

A. Personally I would like to know for sure if Obama ever was an American Citizen or gave up his citizenship. Nothing as of yet has provided solid proof of that and the barrage of anger and Resistance in the Democratic party only sent up more red flags for me. Nothing that Obama has done so far has been in accordance with someone who truly loves America and all she stands for. He has violated the American people and sold us out to our enemies. He is clearly treasonous and should be impeached immediately if these allegations prove true.

But finally under " others information" catagary we can see following statement "This Informations are correct & accurate according to our knowledge , But we don't take any guaranty or Responsibility regarding above information & damages regarding use of such article" So please let me know why it is mention such a way? A. well with raw materials there will always be Variables and they may not always match exactly with the Safety Sheet. It is a legal issue, basically they're saying "This is as correct as it can possibly be, but there may be some discrepancies"

What information are they likely to be trying to protect? It's seperate to the usual confidentiality agreement (the gist of which is that they keep all the IP). "Reciting information" is more important than "acquiring knowledge" in modern politically correct society?
Q. Do you believe that "reciting information" has become more important than "acquiring knowledge" in modern feminized politically correct society? @Fereshte: Calm down.. What I meant was how the entire education system in modren feminized society is base on how well you "recited information", instead of teaching other to think for themselves and challenging to the greatest among us. Thinking for oneself is not rewarded in our society - unless it is in business. In other words, our society's education system prepares students for life as a politically correct system, rather than life as it really is - and the skills required to make one successful. And plus, those were "philosophical amateurs" like you… [cont.]

A. "Reciting information" has been a problem for thousands of years. Think back to the Greeks and their views on writing. Some felt that writing was a way to stunt the mind (instead of actually knowing the information). Plenty of Greek philosophers complained that too many philosophical amateurs would "recite" information as apposed to actually knowing/understanding it. And seeing as how the Greeks were NOT feminized, I think I just debunked your theory. Recitation verse acquired knowledge will ALWAY be an issue as long as there a individuals who seek to sound smart instead of actually being it. This is not a new problem. EDIT- I'm sorry if I came across as riled up. That wasn't my intention. I think you have a point but I… [cont.]

Has anyone read "The Book of Useless Information"?
Q. It is a "fact book" by Noel Botham. It was published in 2006. They even have a "Useless information Society". I normally wouldn't name names like this, but this drivel was actually on the New York Times Bestseller List. Half the book has "facts" that come off the internet (and each site steals from each other), verbatim! There are many "facts" in here that are not facts at all. Here's one example: (quote):"H2O expands as it freezes and contracts as it melts displacing the exact same amount of fluid in either state. So, if the nothern ice cap did melt, it would cause absolutely no rise in the level of the ocean." Oh really? What about all the ice that is above sea level? This book is so… [cont.]

A. The list is based on weekly sales reports obtained from selected samples of independent and chain bookstores, as well as wholesalers, throughout the United States. The sales figures are widely believed to represent books that have actually been sold at retail, rather than wholesale figures,[as the Times surveys a number of actual booksellers in an attempt to better reflect what is actually purchased by individual buyers. Some books are flagged with a dagger ( ) indicating that a significant number of bulk orders had been received by retail bookstores. The exact methodology used in creating the list is classified as a trade secret. so, the books are only on the list because they were purchased often, not because they were good. guess A LOT… [cont.]

Can a person "reason" effectively without "time" and "information"?
Q. I propose that reasoning and critical thinking requires time and information. Reasoning is not effective without them. As an example You're a soldier in the heat of battle. Your commanding officer issues you orders that you do not agree with. If you hesitate, by asking questions and taking the time to reason, several people will die immediately before your eyes. Therefore, you must have "faith" in your commanding officer. That is why reasoning is not effective without time and information. In these situations, "faith" is more valuable than "reason".
Asked by jou e - Sat May 9 00:33:43 2009 - Philosophy - 7 Answers - Comments

A. in some situations, like your example, you dont have any choice but to have faith. or if your about to be in a car accident, you dont have the time to think about what to do cause everything is going way to fast. you have to have faith within yourself to be able to either get out of that situation, or do something that could save someone's life. so technically, yes. a person can reason effectively without time and information. i would say its rare though. but you may look back on it and say, "i wish i did that differently."
